Are you wondering why some photographers have, or are now including 35mm film in their process?

Awesome, I am so glad you are here. Let me explain why you have seen it, what it is, and what it looks like!!! And if you know, great too, I can educate you further!

WHAT IS FILM?

Like I have now in my instagram bio, “preserving the art of nostalgia”. That is truly the base of it. Film has been around since 1825 and it’s still so beautiful. There is something so special about loading the film, the sound of the advancement of the shutter and when you get your scans back.

WHY FILM?

I would like to preface by saying, I am an artist (again, hence the business subject on instagram), not just a person with a camera. As a child, I have always gravitated towards art, and it truly didn’t matter what form it was in, as I didn’t discover the camera earlier enough. I started photography in 2011 and haven’t stopped…here it currently is 2022!! I did shoot on film when I started, as it didn’t yet fully fade out. Then digital became big, and I just put it away after the mirror on my camera got stuck. I started to see a lot of photographers sharing their film scans, and then bought myself a Nikon F3 and an Ilford point and shoot for flash photos for night! I did this in Janurary of 2022, and now (as I write this blog) I have shot hybrid on film and digital, for 4 months.

Update 8/28/22 I now shoot on a Nikon F100 with a 50mm 1.4 lens.

WHEN DO YOU SHOOT FILM, CAN IT BE EXPECTED EVERY TIME?

No, film is now an add on. So let me know if you’d like to add it to your package.
