Tips and resources to establish your own unique wedding style

Couples. You are engaged, finally, yay!!!! And getting married, now it's time to decide what the heck your entire wedding will look like. Are you with me? If this is you, keep reading because I have the best tips for you!!!!

First, I want to congratulate you, you are getting married!!!! Now, lets get into the nitty gritty because you are planning a wedding.

I'd like to start off with how to even begin. The first thing I recommend, is to go on Pinterest and start looking at wedding styles and see what you like. What I do not recommend, is going with a trend just because that is what you see done. Search "wedding styles" and see what you are drawn to!

Make yourself a little board of a mix of things. Once you see a trending look, start looking under those photos for similar ones and pin those to that same group. Then at the very bottom of the board, you will see a + sign, click that and pin some more. Then go back into the board and start deleting the ones you don't like as much. All of this is happening in a matter of days, don't rush it. Do some pinning then go back to it with fresh eyes.

Once you have a nice little board with your vibes, add your venue to it to be sure it matches. Add a very specific dress style, add many till it really goes with the style.

Then add a ceremony and reception style, along with floral, wedding detail flatlay, and so on. Don't forget to look up unique ideas, if you want your photographer to get you into a wedding blog or magazine, details are so important.

Let me explain a few different styles that I am aware of. You have bohemian (boho), editorial, romantic, alternative, vintage, modern, rustic, garden party, southern, traditional, art, nautical, natural, artistic, celestial, tropical, preppy and the list goes on. I bolded my personal favs! Also, note that you can combine them. Like you can do boho modern for instance. This also will help you in your Pin search engine.

I really do think once you nail down a nice pin board, you will be able to start seeing what kind of photography you like. Is it moody, light and airy, is it traditional old school or more modern editorial like I like to consider myself.

Let me know in the comments below if you feel this helped!!
